Wine Advocate: "This is an impressive set of wines from Nicolas Chiquet, a grower based in Dizy, but with vineyards holdings spread across Ay, Mareuil-sur-Ay, Hautvillers and Dizy. The wines have a level of precision and crystalline beauty that is remarkable."
93 points 2000 Blanc de Blancs d'Ay Brut (Magnum): "The 2000 Brut Grand Cru Blanc de Blancs d'Ay is wonderfully vivid in a crisp, fresh expression of bright fruit. This nuanced, precise Champagne could use a few more years on the cork. Tasted from the magnum, the wine is singing. This is a compelling effort from Chiquet."
93 points 2000 Special Club: "The 2000 Brut Special Club is even better than the 2000 Brut Millesime. Here, the Chardonnay also comes from Ay, which adds an additional dimension of weight and density. The wine offers up an exotic array of pineapple, passion fruit and dried apricots, with incredible depth, creaminess and nuance. Menthol and wild flowers linger on the long and deeply satisfying finish. The 2000 Special Club is firing on all cylinders today; in fact it is one of the finest wines I have ever tasted from Chiquet".
92 points 2000 Millesime OR: "Chiquet’s 2000 Brut Millesime is yet another compelling offering. This is a powerful, full-boded wine that nevertheless shows remarkable grace and elegance in its suggestions of honey, orange peel and roasted nuts, all of which are melded together in an immensely rewarding style."
90 points NV Tradition "Carte Verte" 1er Cru: "The NV Brut Premier Cru Tradition offers up sweet, perfumed fruit in a gorgeous, expressive style that is impossible not to admire. Clean and fragrant throughout, the wine reveals terrific balance and a long, refreshing finish with pretty notes of pineapple, pear and melon that add complexity on the close. The Tradition is 45% Pinot Meunier, 35% Chardonnay and 20% Pinot Noir from Premier and Grand Cru vineyards in Ay, Mareuil-sur-Ay, Dizy and Hautvillers. Dosage varies on the specific disgorgement, which is not unusual, as many producers lower dosage with later disgorgements on the belief that the wines gain richness through additional contact on the lees."
90 points Cuvée de Reserve 1er Cru: "The NV Brut Premier Cru Cuvee de Reserve is 33% Chardonnay, 33% Pinot Meunier and 33% Pinot Noir composed of 60% 2000 and 40% 1999 juice. As one might reasonably expect from a wine that spent seven years on the lees, the Cuvee de Reserve shows lovely tertiary complexity in its licorice, anise, spices, smoke and roasted nuts, all of which come together in a textured, creamy style. The wine reveals gorgeous complexity and fine overall balance."
Stephen Tanzer: 92 points 1999 Special Club: "Light yellow-gold, with a slow, steady bead. Pungent nectarine, tangerine, poached pear and dried flowers on the nose, along with a sexy floral undertone. Juicy, palate-staining orchard and pit fruit flavors are enlivened by zesty minerals, which become more pronounced with aeration. The minerals extend through a fleshy, chewy finish. An intriguing smokiness built in the glass, adding depth to the energetic fruit. " 92 points 1999 Blanc de Blancs d'Ay Brut: "Light yellow. An expansive, strongly floral bouquet offers jasmine, lily, lime and orange scents. Dusty minerals add cut to the sweet citrus and pear flavors, which are impressively focused and pure. A tangy and energetic wine that will be superb with fresh shellfish. " 92 points NV Blanc de Blancs d'Ay Brut: "Light yellow. Seductively perfumed aromas of orange, rose, honey and jasmine, plus a hint of herbs. Sappy, palate-staining citrus and orchard fruit flavors are firmed by gentle acidity and given bite by a late note of white pepper. Leaves a trail of tangy minerals and spices behind on the long, energetic finish. " Wine Spectator: Special Club 88-92 points for årgangene 1990,1995,1996,1997: "There's a firm, bracing quality to the structure here, but I like its bread dough, citrus and grilled nut flavors that remain persistent through the finish. Food will tame it. Drink now through 2008. " Brut Champagne Tradition NV 88-92 points afhængigt af den aktuelle version. Seneste note: "Delicate, this plays its bread dough, apple and lemon notes crisply, like the tinkling of a piano. Balanced and with fine bubbles, it fades gracefully on the lingering finish. "
